DLA Distribution Susquehanna successfully restored its organic airborne capabilities with a training evolution on February 24 at Fort Indiantown Gap. Under Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 William Cook, the rigger section trained on parachute packing and inspection, achieving jump currency essential for core mission duties.
The team of six executed static line jumps from a CH-47 Chinook helicopter with medical coverage and all operations coordinated by the team. The training emphasized mentorship and safety, allowing riggers to lead sessions and share experiences.
Collaboration with the Pennsylvania National Guard and the 148th Air Support Operations Squadron enhanced mission planning. A continuity book was created to preserve lessons learned for future training, with plans to incorporate military free fall in upcoming objectives.
