Canadian defense technology startup Dominion Dynamics has raised C$21 million (US$15.2 million) in a seed funding round led by Georgian, with additional participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and British Columbia Investment Management. The funding will support the deployment of its Auranet network, designed to fuse sensor data and communications, particularly in the Arctic region.
This brings Dominion's total capital raised to C$26 million (US$18.8 million) since its inception. The company is developing an 'Arctic autonomy stack' that integrates sensing, autonomy software, and networked platforms for use by allied forces.
The firm plans to expand its workforce in Ottawa and Toronto, open a new development office, and establish a 25,000-square-foot factory in Kanata, Ontario. Dominion is also advancing field initiatives for Arctic operations as part of Operation Nanook and has completed trials in Northern Ontario.
