Dr. Sakr Advances Egypt's Climate Initiatives and Finance Strategies
Dr. Sakr plays a crucial role in Egypt's climate action, focusing on GHG reductions and sustainable finance initiatives. Her contributions enhance the country's compliance with international climate agreements and bolster financial mechanisms for climate resilience.

Dr. Sakr has been instrumental in updating Egypt's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) through 2030 and calculating GHG emissions under the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan. As a National Consultant with South Pole, she collaborates on the Cairo Integrated Transport Project, advancing MRV and carbon market strategies.
Her role extends to developing Low-Emission Development Strategies and preparing Egypt's first Biennial Update and Transparency Reports. Additionally, she has provided training on climate finance and risk management as part of the USAID Business Egypt project.
Dr. Sakr's expertise in green finance is further demonstrated through her work with KfW on establishing an Energy Efficiency Fund and drafting proposals for COP27. These initiatives are vital for enhancing Egypt's climate resilience and attracting international support.
