Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University Partners with Indian Armed Forces for Soldier Rehabilitation
Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) will partner with the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to support retiring personnel and soldiers disabled in war. An MOU with the Army is expected to be signed soon, allowing DSMNRU to provide short-term courses on disability and conduct training programs focused on sensitization and rehabilitation.
Officials from the rehabilitation directorate visited DSMNRU to discuss course development and training for service personnel. The university plans to offer a six-month certificate course for military personnel and workshops on disability topics.
Additionally, the artificial limb and rehabilitation center will manufacture and provide artificial limbs free of cost for soldiers who have lost limbs. The collaboration aims to enhance rehabilitation, skill development, and self-reliance for veterans.
