The DRDO and Indian Navy conducted four successful in-flight release trials of the ADC-150 air droppable container from the P8I aircraft off the coast of Goa, between February 21 and March 1, 2026. This indigenous system is designed to deliver a 150 kg payload, improving logistics for naval vessels in distress.
The ADC-150 was developed to meet the Navy's requirements in a short timeframe and is expected to be inducted soon. The Naval Science & Technological Laboratory in Visakhapatnam is the nodal lab, with support from various DRDO facilities for development and certification.
