DEFENSE

On January 11, 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted a successful flight test of the Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile (MPATGM) at KK Ranges, Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra. The missile, designed for man-portable deployment, demonstrated its top-attack capability against a moving target using a thermal target system.

It features an Imaging Infrared (IIR) homing seeker, an all-electric control actuation system, and a tandem warhead capable of defeating modern tanks. Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited are the development partners for the MPATGM programme, which aims to enhance India's self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
