DRIFT Drones Project Receives Lions Clubs International Award
The DRIFT Drones in School initiative has been awarded 'New and Impactful Project of the Year' by Lions Clubs International for its focus on youth education in drone technology. This recognition highlights the importance of integrating emerging technologies into educational programs across the Caribbean.

The DRIFT Drones in School 2026 Aerial Robotics Workshop, led by Jamaican Dervon McKellop and delivered by DRIFT Enterprise UAV Services, received the 'New and Impactful Project of the Year' award from Lions Clubs International Sub-District 60B. In collaboration with the Lions Club of Tortola and the British Virgin Islands Ministry of Education, the program engaged students from various schools in drone piloting, coding, engineering, and problem-solving during the National Science Fair.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to equip Caribbean youth with skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) and has garnered interest for potential replication across the region. The project's success illustrates the potential of integrating education and community service to prepare young individuals for future careers.
