DSIT Solutions Launches Advanced Undersea Threat Detection System
DSIT Solutions has introduced a multi-layer Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) system, integrating various sonars for continuous underwater monitoring. This innovation addresses the urgent need for improved detection capabilities against unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and other modern threats.
DSIT Solutions unveiled its Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) system on May 13, 2026, at CNE 2026, designed for continuous underwater threat monitoring. The UDA integrates AquaShield, PointShield, BlueShield, and SeaShield sonars into a unified AI-supported command and control center, addressing a range of undersea threats, including UUVs, submarines, and combat divers.
The system’s architecture allows for overlapping detection ranges, enhancing threat identification as contacts approach sensitive areas. The SeaShield component features low-frequency sonar for long-range detection, while AquaShield and PointShield focus on short ranges.
The use of AI for data merging aims to streamline sensor fusion processes, though specific AI details remain unconfirmed. This system represents a significant advancement in naval defense capabilities in response to increasing UUV threats, potentially impacting naval operational strategies globally.
