Dutch Growers Form Energie Cluster Terneuzen for Sustainable Energy Supply
Four Dutch horticultural companies have united their energy activities under Energie Cluster Terneuzen to enhance cooperation on energy supply in Westdorpe, Zeeland. The initiative focuses on utilizing residual heat and CO₂ from local industries, significantly reducing natural gas use and promoting sustainability. The collaboration aims to develop a reliable energy supply system while exploring alternative energy sources and optimizing existing resources.

Four horticultural companies in the Netherlands, 4Evergreen, VGT Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Alvonto, and Van Duijn De Jong, have consolidated their energy activities as Energie Cluster Terneuzen, aiming to strengthen cooperation on energy supply within the 132-hectare greenhouse area near Westdorpe, Zeeland. This initiative emphasizes sustainability by utilizing residual heat and CO₂ from local industries, minimizing natural gas consumption.
The collaboration, ongoing since 2008, seeks to adapt to changing market conditions and invest in infrastructure to ensure a robust energy supply. The region is exploring alternative energy sources and optimizing existing resources to maintain a cost-effective and future-proof energy system.
