EA-18G Growler Operates with Advanced Loadout During Operation Epic Fury
The EA-18G Growler from VAQ-133 launched from USS Abraham Lincoln during Operation Epic Fury with four AGM-88 anti-radiation missiles, two AIM-120 AMRAAMs, and other equipment. This configuration enhances SEAD capabilities against integrated air defenses and coastal radars, allowing the aircraft to detect and destroy targets efficiently. The Growler, a modern electronic warfare variant of the F/A-18, is set to receive further upgrades with the Block II development that includes an Advanced Cockpit System.

During Operation Epic Fury, the EA-18G Growler, operated by VAQ-133, launched from USS Abraham Lincoln with a loadout of four AGM-88 anti-radiation missiles, two AIM-120 AMRAAMs, two 480-gallon fuel tanks, and an ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System pod. This configuration improves the aircraft's ability to perform Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) missions by integrating jamming and missile capabilities in one operation.
The Growler's range exceeds 850 nautical miles and is designed to counter various threats, including coastal radars and anti-ship missile systems. Development of the Growler Block II will further enhance its electronic warfare capabilities.
