easyJet has partnered with Jet Zero to advance blended-wing technology aimed at achieving zero-emission aviation. This collaboration is crucial, as 71% of surveyed individuals believe zero-emission tech is essential for reducing aviation CO2 emissions.

easyJet has announced a partnership with American startup Jet Zero to develop blended-wing aircraft technology capable of supporting hydrogen engines. Jet Zero, founded in 2021 and backed by the US Air Force, NASA, and the FAA, plans to introduce its first aircraft by 2030.
The US Air Force awarded Jet Zero a $235 million contract to develop a working model by Q1 2027. Additionally, a study indicated that 53% of respondents want the UK government to expedite the transition to zero-carbon flying, highlighting the urgency for policy alignment with technological advancements. Risks include potential regulatory delays that could hinder progress.
