Ecosuntek and Renco Near Completion of 37 MW Photovoltaic Plant in Ravenna
Ecosuntek Spa and Renco Spa are finalizing a 37.16 MW photovoltaic plant in Ravenna, designed to power cruise ships. The project is significant for its anticipated annual generation of 53 GWh, supporting energy for approximately 20,000 households while reducing CO2 emissions by over 25,000 tonnes.
Ecosuntek Spa, through its subsidiary Eco Trade Srl, in collaboration with Renco Spa, is nearing the completion of a 37.16 MW photovoltaic facility in the Port of Ravenna. The plant, part of the Adriasol Srl joint venture, is set to produce around 53 GWh of electricity annually, enough to supply approximately 20,000 households and reduce CO2 emissions by more than 25,000 tonnes each year.
The energy generated will primarily serve cruise ships at Porto Corsini. Financial support includes a 20-year incentive tariff from GSE and a EUR7.6 million non-repayable grant from PNRR, with commissioning expected in the second half of 2026. This project highlights the shift towards renewable energy, particularly in maritime sectors.
