Egypt and Bahrain Sign 8 MoUs for Economic Cooperation
Egypt and Bahrain have signed eight memorandums of understanding to strengthen economic and institutional ties, focusing on investment attraction and trade enhancement.

Eight MoUs have been signed between Egypt and Bahrain to enhance economic cooperation. Key agreements include a significant partnership between Egyptalum and Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) for the development of an alumina refinery.
Additionally, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) and Bahrain's Economic Development Board (EDB) will work on attracting Gulf and Asian investments. Customs agreements are set to streamline processes, while a collaboration between competition authorities aims to ensure market fairness.
In 2024, bilateral trade reached $460 million, highlighting growth potential contingent on effective MoU implementation. Risks may arise if the agreements are not executed as planned, impacting future economic relations.
