EIG has acquired a 49.87% stake in Transportadora de Gas del Perú (TGP), the operator of Peru's main gas pipeline, as congratulated by the U.S. Embassy in Lima. This acquisition aims to bolster energy security and attract regional investments, with TGP supplying approximately 40% of Peru's electricity.

The deal, finalized after approvals, follows an agreement with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board to buy its shares. TGP transports 920,000 barrels of natural gas and 130,000 of liquefied natural gas daily. The company is negotiating to extend its concession until 2043, requiring a $2 billion investment.
