Eighth Air Force Leadership Visits Minot Air Force Base to Discuss Readiness and B-52 Modernization

On February 23-24, 2026, Eighth Air Force leaders Maj. Gen. Ty Neuman and Chief Master Sgt.
Brandon Wolfgang visited Minot Air Force Base. This was Neuman's first visit since assuming command in November 2025. The team met with members of the 5th Bomb Wing and local leaders to emphasize readiness and modernization, particularly regarding the B-52H Stratofortress, which will be upgraded to B-52J under a new Boeing contract.
Neuman highlighted the importance of maintaining a credible nuclear force and recognized superior performers while discussing quality of life for Airmen. Their visit underscored Minot AFB's strategic role in national defense.
