Ekiti State Launches Operation to Expel Bandits from Forests Amid Rising Security Threats
DEFENSE
Ekiti State has launched a coordinated security operation in its North Senatorial District to expel bandits fleeing from crackdowns in Kwara and Kogi States. This operation, initiated last week, involves personnel from the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services, Nigeria Police Force, and local security outfits such as Amotekun Corps.
The action follows security breaches in the area and aims to prevent bandits from establishing camps. Positive results have been reported, with several suspects apprehended and undergoing profiling. The operation will persist until all criminal hideouts are dismantled.
