Elbit America Completes First U.S.-Built SIGMA NG Artillery System for U.S. Army

DEFENSE

Elbit America has completed the first U.S.-built SIGMA NG artillery system for review by the U.S. Army. The SIGMA NG features a 155mm/52-caliber cannon mounted in a remote-controlled turret, capable of firing a full range of 155mm projectiles.

While the barrel is manufactured in the U.S. and finished in Israel, the system emphasizes domestic content to align with U.S. procurement policies. Built on the Oshkosh Defense LVSR 10x10 truck, the system includes an automatic ammunition handling system and can carry 40 rounds.

It allows for multiple-round simultaneous impacts to enhance targeting effectiveness. The SIGMA NG aims to compete with other artillery offerings, including the CAESAR Mk II and K9 Thunder, by meeting the Army's requirements for armor, mobility, and range, while being produced domestically in South Carolina.
