Electricite du Cambodge Initiates 60 MW Solar Project in Kampong Chhnang Province

SOLAR ENERGYPOWER GRIDS & TRANSMISSION

Electricite du Cambodge (EDC) has initiated an international bidding process for a 60 MW solar power project in Kampong Chhnang province, contributing to a larger plan for a 100 MW solar park. The project will operate under a build-own-operate model, where the developer is responsible for the entire lifecycle, including financing and maintenance.

EDC has set a maximum tariff of $0.076 per kilowatt-hour for electricity supplied to the national grid under a long-term power purchase agreement. Additionally, the project includes building a substation and transmission system to integrate new solar capacity.

Companies must submit a $500,000 financial guarantee to bid. This project signifies Cambodia's commitment to increasing renewable energy and improving energy security.
