Energía 2000 Receives First LNG Shipment for Manzanillo Power Land Project in Dominican Republic

NATURAL GAS

Energía 2000 has successfully completed the docking maneuver of the LNG carrier Energoslo, marking the arrival of the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipment for the Manzanillo Power Land (MPL) electricity generation project. The operation followed all required operational and safety reviews by the LNG supplier.

The LNG transfer was conducted via a ship-to-ship (STS) method, delivering approximately 50,000 cubic meters of LNG to the Energos Freeze floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), which has been docked at the offshore terminal in Manzanillo Bay since September 1, 2025. This milestone enhances the Dominican Republic's energy security, as it initiates the first permanent FSRU operation in Manzanillo. The MPL project is expected to generate 440 megawatts, contributing approximately 12% to national generation capacity and fostering economic development in the northern border region, particularly in Pepillo Salcedo and Montecristi province.
