NNEGC Energoatom has finished repairs on Unit 2 of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant, optimizing the process to four days from a planned 52. This is crucial as eight of nine Ukrainian-controlled nuclear units are operational, ensuring reliable energy supply for the coming heating season.

NNEGC Energoatom has completed repairs on Unit 2 of the Khmelnytsky Nuclear Power Plant, reducing the planned repair period from 52 days to four. Unit 2 was restarted and synchronized with the grid on April 28, with eight of the nine Ukrainian-controlled nuclear units currently operational.
The maintenance campaign began in April and is set to continue until October, aiming to optimize repairs while ensuring quality, as stated by Energoatom's Acting Chairman, Pavlo Kovtoniuk. This initiative is coordinated with Ukrenergo to manage unit shutdowns effectively. The optimization of maintenance processes may enhance overall capacity in the energy system.
