Energy Cooperative Proposes $150 Million Natural Gas Pipeline for New Albany Data Center

NATURAL GASDATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

A Newark-based utility is proposing a 24-mile natural gas pipeline across Licking County to supply fuel to a data center power plant in New Albany. The $150 million project will be funded entirely by the data center company.

The pipeline will follow established roads and is designed to stabilize the local gas supply and reduce pressure issues during high demand. Construction could begin in late 2026 or early 2027 if approved by the Ohio Power Siting Board. The project is expected to create approximately 250 construction jobs in Licking County.
