DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURENATURAL GAS
An AI data center, a $1.3 billion project, is set to be built in Port Arthur, Texas, linked to a new Entergy power plant. The Public Utility Commission of Texas approved Entergy Texas to construct two natural gas plants, adding over 1,200 megawatts to the grid and generating $2.8 billion in economic activity.
The data center will require 42 acres, with a project duration of 18 to 36 months, creating 22 permanent and 225 construction jobs. The Legend Powerstation will support this development by powering more than 190,000 homes and investing $1.6 billion. Local materials will be used, and contractors with relevant experience will be preferred.
