EON Space Labs Develops Indigenous Imaging Payloads to Boost India's Space Sovereignty

DEFENSE

EON Space Labs, founded in December 2022 in Hyderabad, is developing electro-optical and infrared imaging payloads to reduce India's reliance on foreign technology. The startup's flagship product, MIRA, is designed for CubeSats and UAVs.

EON partnered with TakeMe2Space to create MOI-1, a 6U CubeSat, but its launch failed. The company aims to prioritize MOI-2 for future missions. EON raised $1.2 million in 2025 to scale its hardware across various platforms and has secured contracts with Kepler Aerospace and the Indian Navy for surveillance projects. The company currently utilizes over 90% indigenous content in its products.
