Eskom and NTCSA Receive €650,000 Grant to Enhance South Africa's Power Grid
Eskom and the National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) secured €650,000 (approx. R12 million) from AFD to enhance the electricity transmission network. This funding, part of a two-year cooperation agreement with RTE international, aims to support South Africa's transition to renewable energy and address operational challenges in the evolving electricity sector.

Eskom and NTCSA have entered a cooperation agreement with RTE international, supported by a €650,000 grant from Agence Française de Développement (AFD). The two-year programme focuses on enhancing the resilience and capacity of South Africa's electricity transmission infrastructure amidst the integration of renewable energy sources.
Key collaboration areas include renewable energy integration, artificial intelligence, and HVDC technologies. The initiative is part of the Just Energy Transition Partnership, emphasizing international support for South Africa's energy transition.
