Estonia and Latvia Launch Procurement for 600 Bunkers for Baltic Defense Line

DEFENSE

Estonia's Centre for Defense Investments (ECDI) and Latvia's Ministry of Defense have announced a public procurement for up to 600 concrete bunkers for the Baltic Defense Line, with an estimated cost of €60 million. This initiative aims to fortify the eastern border against potential military threats from Russia and Belarus.

The ECDI plans to complete the construction of the defense line by the end of 2027. Initial deliveries of bunker components have already been made, with nine bunkers installed in Southeastern Estonia. The joint procurement will enable cost savings through economies of scale as both countries collaborate on this project.
