Estonian Defense Forces Enhance Military Infrastructure in Ida-Viru County
The Estonian Defense Forces are investing €20 million in military infrastructure in Ida-Viru County, including relocating the 1st Infantry Brigade headquarters to Jõhvi. A new military base in Narva is also planned for completion within the next three years.

The Estonian Center for Defense Investments (RKIK) has invested approximately €20 million in the Jõhvi military base, which includes a new multifunctional training and sports complex recently inaugurated. The headquarters of the 1st Infantry Brigade is set to move from Tapa to Jõhvi, necessitating further upgrades to accommodate increased personnel, with plans for expanded training infrastructure and shooting ranges.
Additionally, RKIK is preparing to establish a military base in Narva, with completion expected within three years. These developments reflect a strategic focus on enhancing military readiness and operational capabilities in the region.
