Estonian Startup Rollo Robotics Develops Unique Security Robot 1Rollo
Rollo Robotics is developing the 1Rollo, a security robot weighing 45 kg, capable of running autonomously for eight hours. This innovation aims to reduce security costs significantly while maintaining effective surveillance through a subscription model.

Rollo Robotics is in the process of developing the 1Rollo, a security robot that operates on a single wheel, weighs approximately 45 kg, and can reach speeds of 30 km/h with up to eight hours of battery life. This device utilizes 360-degree computer vision and GNSS RTK for precise navigation along pre-mapped routes, alerting human supervisors via 4G or 5G when anomalies are detected.
The product, still in functional prototype stage, will be offered as a Robotics as a Service (RaaS) model, requiring no upfront purchase, which aims to lower the barrier for clients and provide ongoing access to updates. The cost-effectiveness of this solution compared to traditional security measures remains to be validated, especially in terms of total operational costs, including the human supervisor needed for monitoring alerts.
