Ethiopian Nuclear Energy Commission Aims for 10-Year Power Plant Development
The Ethiopian Nuclear Energy Commission (Enec), founded in October 2025, is set to develop its first nuclear power plant within a decade, aiming to expedite the process typically taking 10-15 years. This initiative seeks to diversify Ethiopia's energy sources and reduce its current dependence on hydropower, which accounts for 90% of the nation's electricity supply.
