Etna Green Plans Wastewater Regionalization with Warsaw
Etna Green aims to connect its wastewater system to Warsaw, seeking funding for regionalization to address plant inefficiencies. This initiative aligns with Indiana's push for fewer treatment facilities, potentially easing financial burdens on the town.

Etna Green is pursuing a regionalization plan to connect its wastewater system to the Warsaw wastewater treatment plant, as the current facility, built in 1990, is experiencing operational failures. Representatives from Commonwealth Engineers presented this option, which involves constructing nine miles of piping and two lift stations.
The state supports this move, making grant funding more accessible. If not funded, the town may consider rehabilitating the existing plant or constructing a new facility, both of which would incur higher long-term costs.
The project will also explore connections with nearby communities. This approach could lead to more efficient wastewater management in the region, though potential funding risks remain.
