EU Grants €128 Million for LNG Terminal Expansion in Poland
The European Regional Development Fund allocates €128 million to extend the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, enhancing energy security in Poland. This investment follows over €250 million already invested in the terminal and aims to diversify gas supply sources.

The Polish government has signed a grant agreement with Polskie LNG for the expansion of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście, backed by €128 million from the European Regional Development Fund. This facility is the only one of its kind in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe, and the investment is part of broader efforts, including over €2 billion allocated to Polish energy infrastructure since 2007.
The expansion is crucial for diversifying natural gas sources and is listed among the European Projects of Common Interest. Additionally, the Baltic Pipe project, which received a €215 million EU grant, will facilitate gas shipments from the North Sea to Poland and neighboring regions, further enhancing energy security.
