The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) is advising the Forward Air Controller Course (TACP MOZ) at the Mavalane Training Camp to enhance the capabilities of the Mozambican Air Force. The course lasts 16 weeks and consists of three phases: a 9-week Basic Phase, a 5-week Specialisation Phase, and a 2-week Final Readiness Phase.
The Basic Phase focuses on essential military training, including navigation, weapons handling, and combat tactics, forming the foundation for future technical training in air-ground coordination. Led by a Mozambican TACP officer, the course adheres to international standards and is supervised by EUMAM MOZ, marking a step towards the training autonomy of the Mozambican Defence Armed Forces (FADM). This initiative aims to strengthen TACP capabilities to effectively address security challenges, especially in Cabo Delgado.
