Eurecat Leads €40 Million EU Project for AI in Industrial Robotics
Eurecat is spearheading a €40 million initiative to develop a sovereign AI model for industrial robotics under the GRAIL consortium. The project aims to validate this AI across five key sectors including automotive and aerospace, enhancing operational efficiency and adaptability in various industrial applications.

Eurecat will lead a €40 million project focused on creating a European AI model for industrial robotics. This initiative, part of the GRAIL consortium, targets validation in five sectors: automotive, aerospace, intralogistics, steel, and electronics.
The project will involve training robots using extensive datasets to improve interaction with physical environments. Additionally, three funding calls worth €10 million each will be launched to support around 40 projects that will implement and validate the AI model.
These calls are open to SMEs, large corporations, and research centers across Europe, promoting collaboration within the ecosystem. The developments could enhance robot autonomy and operational efficiency, but there is a risk of uneven access to resources among participants.
