European Commission Approves Third Phase of FAMOUS Project
The European Commission has approved a €79 million funding request for the FAMOUS project, bringing total funding to €115 million. This phase aims to enhance military vehicle synergy, standardization, interoperability, and reduce lifecycle costs, building on the success of previous phases.

The FAMOUS (Future highly mobile Augmented arMOUred System) project will receive €79 million from the European Commission, increasing total funding to €115 million. This third phase focuses on optimizing military vehicle capabilities and reducing lifecycle costs, following the development of the TRACKX armored vehicle in previous phases.
The consortium comprises 20 countries and 50 organizations, including companies such as Patria Land Oy (Finland), Arquus (France), and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace AS (Norway). While specific participation details for Phase III have not been disclosed, the project aims to meet EU defense needs and improve armored vehicle performance.
