European Energy has commenced operations at the Kvosted solar and battery park in Viborg Municipality, Denmark, featuring a 200 MWh battery system, the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. The integrated facility allows for local solar power storage, enhancing grid stability and enabling electricity use during low solar generation.

The project was completed in seven months, with the solar park operational since 2022. With this project, European Energy aims to expand its battery capacity across Europe, targeting over 1 GW of installed battery capacity by 2027.

The Kvosted facility can store enough electricity to power around 18,000 households daily and will officially open on 2 February 2026, attended by key Danish officials. The initiative supports Denmark's renewable energy transition by reducing reliance on fossil fuels and improving the energy system's flexibility.
