European Institutional Investors Amplify Circular Economy Investments
European institutional investors are significantly enhancing their investments in the global circular economy, with a focus on scalable technologies and policy alignment. This trend is expected to unlock approximately $4.5 trillion in economic value by 2030 while contributing to substantial greenhouse gas reductions.

European institutional investors, including pension funds and corporations, are increasingly investing in the global circular economy, as evidenced by Circulate Capital's $220 million first close for its second Asia Fund, supported by European development financial institutions. The European Circular Bioeconomy Fund, launched in 2020 with a €300 million target, also exemplifies this shift, having recently led an €8 million Series A round for a German foodtech company focused on reducing food waste.
European policies, such as the EU Green Deal, are driving this investment trend by creating a predictable regulatory environment. This growing commitment from European investors may significantly influence global sustainability practices and market transformations.
