Kanadevia Inova to Develop Advanced Waste-to-Energy Plant in Rome
Kanadevia Inova AG, alongside partners Acea, Suez, Vianini Lavori, and RMB, will construct a waste-to-energy plant in Rome. The facility aims to treat 600,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste annually, generating approximately 65 MW of electricity for 200,000 households.

Kanadevia Inova AG will serve as the lead Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for a new waste-to-energy (WtE) plant located in Santa Palomba, 25 km from Rome. The facility, which will treat 600,000 tonnes of waste per year, is set to begin construction on May 14, 2026, with waste deliveries starting in autumn 2029.
This plant will include a Flue Gas Treatment (FGT) system to comply with European emission limits and will incorporate advanced technologies for electricity generation and resource recovery. The project also features ancillary facilities for circular economy practices, contributing to decarbonization efforts in Italy's energy sector.
