Eversource Announces Power Infrastructure Upgrades in Provincetown and Truro
Eversource plans to enhance power infrastructure in Provincetown and Truro, focusing on pole and wiring stability. This initiative follows a report on vulnerabilities exposed by a recent blizzard, with completion projected within a year.

Eversource will upgrade power infrastructure along Shore Road in Provincetown and Truro, targeting improved stability of poles and wiring to mitigate outages. These enhancements are expected to be completed within one year, following vulnerabilities identified after the February 23 blizzard.
The company is also assessing stronger coastal designs and alternative materials for infrastructure. Eversource's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), operational since December 2022, has successfully provided power during outages, showcasing its effectiveness. Future plans include a solar project in North Truro to facilitate battery charging, further supporting grid reliability in the region.
