ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum Launch Al Khaleej Gas-Phase Two Project
ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum have initiated the Al Khaleej Gas-Phase Two project, enhancing Qatar's gas production capabilities. With an investment exceeding $3 billion, the project is set to significantly boost domestic gas supply by 2009.

ExxonMobil Middle East Gas Marketing Limited and Qatar Petroleum have finalized a development plan for the Al Khaleej Gas-Phase Two (AKG-2) project. This project is projected to produce 1,580 million cubic feet per day (mcfd) of natural gas and aims for annual outputs of 1,250 mcfd of sales gas, 15 million barrels of field condensate, and 1 million tons of natural gas liquids.
The total investment for AKG-2 is anticipated to surpass $3 billion. This development aligns with the Ras Laffan LNG Expansion Project to create operational synergies. The expansion could have implications for Qatar's domestic energy landscape and international gas markets.
