ExxonMobil Plans $2B Gas Pipeline to Berbice Before 2030 Deadline
ExxonMobil aims to construct a $2 billion gas pipeline to Berbice before President Irfaan Ali's term ends in 2030, following the completion of an existing pipeline to Wales. This infrastructure is essential for supporting new industries and attracting foreign investments in Guyana's expanding energy sector.

ExxonMobil has announced plans for a second gas pipeline to Berbice, projected to cost approximately $2 billion. This initiative aligns with President Irfaan Ali's vision to enhance energy infrastructure before he completes his term in 2030.
The existing 12-inch pipeline to Wales, completed in December 2024, supports the Gas-to-Energy project, with an estimated cost of $1 billion, plus a $759 million Natural Gas Liquids facility and a 300-megawatt power plant under construction. ExxonMobil is also exploring partnerships for additional projects, including the Longtail and Haimara developments, to ensure adequate gas supply for new industrial ventures. The company's commitment includes over $65 billion in investments, highlighting Guyana's strategic importance as a regional investment hub.
