ExxonMobil Starts Turrum Phase 3 Drilling Project in Gippsland Basin, Australia
Esso Australia Pty Ltd., a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, has commenced drilling for the Turrum Phase 3 project, a $350 million investment aimed at enhancing natural gas production for Australia's east coast market.

Esso Australia Pty Ltd., part of ExxonMobil Corp., has begun drilling the Turrum Phase 3 project in the Gippsland basin, aiming to deliver significant natural gas supplies. The $350 million initiative involves the VALARIS 107 jack-up rig drilling five new wells in the Turrum and North Turrum gas fields to support the domestic gas market. Wells will be drilled from the Marlin B platform, located approximately 42 km off the Gippsland coastline at depths of around 60 m, as outlined in a 2025 information bulletin.
