Fano Forces Capture Nefase Wuchia in South Gondar Amid Ongoing Conflict
Fano forces have announced their control over Nefase Wuchia in South Gondar, capturing the town's mayor. This strategic location on the Woldia-Bahir Dar road was taken during an operation involving the Menelik Command's 303rd, 16th, and 106th corps. Reports indicate that 154 government forces were captured, along with military equipment. Previous patterns show Fano forces often lose captured towns shortly after seizing them, as the Ethiopian government responds with drone strikes.

On Wednesday, Fano forces announced they took control of Nefase Wuchia in South Gondar, a key location on the Woldia-Bahir Dar road. The town's mayor, Takele, was captured and shown in a video released by Fano.
The operation involved the 303rd, 16th, and 106th corps of the Menelik Command, led by deputy commander Wondimu Maru. Fano forces claimed to have captured 154 government personnel and seized military equipment, including bren machine guns and AK-47s.
Historically, Fano forces have struggled to maintain control of captured towns, often withdrawing shortly after. The Ethiopian Defense Force has not commented on these developments.
