FBiH Government Supports AAFS Infrastructure's Southern Interconnection Project
The Federal Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved a letter of intent from AAFS Infrastructure and Energy to explore collaboration on the Southern Interconnection project with Croatia, which includes gas power plants and pipeline developments. The project is subject to the Law on Concessions in FBiH, with self-initiated proposals considered for project execution.
Experts highlight significant planning issues and skepticism regarding the project's feasibility, particularly concerning gas supply logistics and existing infrastructure. Concerns were raised about the capacity of the Krk LNG terminal and the overall viability of generating 1,200 MW from gas plants, citing a lack of available contracts for gas transport and insufficient pipeline infrastructure in the region.
