Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Prepares Law Changes for South Gas Interconnection Project
The Federation Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina is preparing amendments to the law on the South Gas Interconnection to accelerate a key energy project. Discussions may occur in the coming days, followed by parliamentary procedures. The proposed change would allow the direct incorporation of the investor's name into the law, potentially expediting project implementation. AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC has expressed interest in this project, which aims to connect Bosnia's gas network with Croatia's LNG terminal, significantly increasing gas supply capacity.

The Federation Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina is set to amend the law regarding the South Gas Interconnection, facilitating the advancement of a significant energy project. These amendments could be discussed in the coming days, with a proposal forwarded to parliament thereafter.
A notable aspect of the amendments is the inclusion of the investor's name directly in the law, which could accelerate project execution. AAFS Infrastructure and Energy LLC has shown interest in large infrastructure investments, focusing on the South Gas Interconnection with Croatia, construction of gas power plants, and airport modernization in Sarajevo and Mostar.
The project is expected to connect the local gas network to the LNG terminal on Krk, boosting capacity to 1.5 billion cubic meters annually, surpassing current consumption levels. Plans include building three gas power plants with a total capacity of 1,200 megawatts, producing approximately 6 terawatt-hours of electricity annually, addressing half of Bosnia's electricity needs.
