The Project Matador facility is designed to have four nuclear reactors, a natural gas plant, solar panels, and supercomputers, aiming for a total power capacity of 11 gigawatts by the mid-2030s. The Panhandle 1st Coalition criticized the project, citing concerns over worker layoffs and inadequate planning, while Fermi America has not confirmed specific impacts on employment during the construction pause.
