Fetch Energy Develops Wave Energy Generator for Maritime Use
Fetch Energy's Mantis wave energy generator targets recreational vessels, enabling electricity supply while moored. With successful lab tests and funding from Innovate UK, customer pilot trials are set for summer 2026, aiming for a full launch in November.

Fetch Energy is advancing its portable wave energy generator, Mantis, designed for recreational maritime applications. The device, featuring a single moving part, simplifies wave energy conversion and aims to increase accessibility for vessel owners.
After initial sea tests, Fetch Energy secured funding from Innovate UK to conduct controlled trials with HR Wallingford. Two testing phases allowed the team to validate and improve the prototype's performance, ultimately confirming its high conversion efficiency.
Following successful lab results, customer pilot trials are scheduled for summer 2026, with a full product launch targeted for November. The company plans to expand Mantis for commercial maritime and offshore applications, and pursue grid-scale integration.
