Filipino Welders in Scotland Win £1 Million Lottery Prize
Filipino welders Arsenio Navarro Jr. and his wife Reyna, who moved to Scotland to fill a skills gap in the industry, won £1 million in a National Lottery Instant Win Game. The couple plans to use their winnings to buy a home and enjoy local produce, while also intending to continue working but reduce their hours for more family time. They have a trip to the Philippines planned in March to celebrate their good fortune with family.

Arsenio Navarro Jr. and his wife Reyna, who relocated from the Philippines to Scotland to address a shortage of welders, won £1 million on a National Lottery Instant Win Game. The couple moved to Greenock for Arsenio to work as a specialist welder at BAE Systems, constructing Royal Navy ships.
Their win comes amid reports of a skills gap that led Babcock in Rosyth to hire 300 Filipino welders. With their winnings, they plan to purchase a home and enjoy local Scottish produce. Despite the financial windfall, both intend to continue working but hope to reduce their hours for more time together. They have a planned trip to the Philippines in March to celebrate with family.
