Final Contract Awarded for Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project by US Army Corps of Engineers

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has awarded the final contract for the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project on the Tennessee River, valued at $192,143,924.90, to C.J. Mahan Construction Company LLC.

This contract includes constructing downstream approach walls, breaching the existing dam, and removing the cofferdam. The upstream approach wall is approximately 70% complete, while the new lock chamber is 76% finished. The upgraded lock will accommodate nine jumbo barges in a single lockage, improving navigation efficiency along the Tennessee River.
