Fincantieri Marine Group has secured a $30 million contract from the U.S. Navy for the Medium Landing Ship program, covering initial procurement and engineering for four vessels. This contract marks a significant advancement in the LSM program, which aims to enhance operational effectiveness for the U.S. Marine Corps in contested environments.

Fincantieri Marine Group has been awarded a $30 million contract for long-lead materials and engineering activities related to the Medium Landing Ship (LSM) program, initiating the first phase of a project potentially encompassing up to 35 vessels. Construction for the initial four ships is projected to commence in Q4 2026, contingent on subsequent approvals and contracts.
This contract is vital to mitigating schedule risks and supports the U.S. Navy's shift towards a more efficient Vessel Construction Manager model. Over the past decade, Fincantieri has invested more than $800 million in U.S. shipyards, employing approximately 3,000 workers, thus reinforcing its capability to manage multiple naval programs.
