On March 26, 2026, Sawgrass LNG & Power conducted the first LNG shore-to-ship bunkering at Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, fueling the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's vessel Ilma. This operation underscores the port's commitment to supporting next-generation marine fuels for cruise and cargo operations.
The cooperation involved multiple partners, including the U.S. Coast Guard Sector Miami and Broward Sheriff's Office. Additionally, Sawgrass LNG & Power secured a new LNG supply contract with Barbados National Energy Company Limited (BNECL). The successful execution of this operation may enhance the region's appeal for LNG as a marine fuel, potentially attracting more maritime operations focused on sustainability.
