First Quantum-Safe Drones Developed for Military Use
European defense firms have tested the world's first quantum-safe drones, ensuring secure UAV communications against cyber and quantum threats. This advancement is crucial as drone missions increasingly rely on secure data transmission in high-risk environments.

STV Group a.s. and Post-Quantum have developed and tested the first quantum-safe drones to secure UAV communications. Conducted at a Czech Republic weapons testing facility, this platform integrates combat-tested unmanned aerial systems with advanced post-quantum encryption, specifically the Classic McEliece algorithm.
The technology addresses vulnerabilities in areas such as Ukraine and the Middle East, where electronic warfare tactics threaten data transmission. Future deployment plans include integrating this system into allied defense operations and extending its application to ground and maritime unmanned platforms. As reliance on drones grows, ensuring secure communication is vital for operational effectiveness.
